Meet the Speakers

Luke Jeagal is a corporate attorney at Mintz LLP, specializing in corporate and startup law. He advises companies across various industries, including healthcare, technology, and life sciences. Prior to his legal career, Luke conducted clinical research in thoracic surgery and respirology, co-authoring several high-impact publications in international medical journals. He also has experience in venture capital at the pre-seed stage, as well as in artificial intelligence research and in international trade.

Shane Thomas is a corporate lawyer in the New York office of Mintz, Levin, Cohn, Ferris, Glovsky and Popeo, P.C. With strong roots in Canada, Shane advises high-growth technology and healthcare companies and their investors in both the U.S. and Canada. Shane advises on corporate governance matters, negotiating complex financing transactions, and providing strategic counsel on commercial agreements in connection with product development and commercialization. Before becoming a lawyer, Shane worked for a number of years in the biopharmaceutical industry in Canada in commercial roles, including market access and sales.
