Mississauga, ON December 2024

It has been our absolute pleasure having MycoFutures amongst the inaugural cohort of SpinUp startups, and we’re so proud that they’ve become our first graduates!

MycoFutures, led by Stephanie Lipp and Leo Gillis, has reached an incredible milestone in securing $100K in pre-paid purchase orders from SRTX CEO & Founder Katherine Homuth, to launch a travel pouch made from mycelium leather. As part of this commitment, MycoFutures has been granted manufacturing space at the new SRTX incubator, called SRTX Origins, in Montreal.

The work that Stephanie and Leo are doing to revolutionize the materials science and sustainable fashion industry is energizing, and while our community will certainly miss them around the SpinUp lab, we look forward to following along as they embark on this exciting new journey with SRTX!

Stephanie and Leo’s dedication to their venture through all the highs and lows has been inspiring to watch, and we are so glad to have had the opportunity to support them through our incubator program.

Wishing you the best of luck with all that 2025 (and beyond) has in store, Stephanie & Leo – the SpinUp and UofT Entrepreneurship family will always be rooting for you!
